The calculation of property tax in Bengaluru is based on the per sq. ft. per month that is based on the location of the property. This is multiplied by the current property tax rate. The tax rate for the property in Bangalore varies with 6 zones, which come under the jurisdiction of the BBMP.

Bangalore property tax period begins in April and ends in March. The expiry date to pay property tax in Bengaluru is 31st of March. As of 2023, BBMP offers a 5% discount or rebate on the property tax if the tax is paid within the due date as specified by the BBMP.
